Fans of Kim Da-mi from the hit revenge thriller The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion (2018) may have been surprised with her role in the SBS coming-of-age rom-com TV show Our Beloved Summer (2021). Even though her character's dynamics with that of Choi Woo-shik's were markedly different—from enemies out to kill each other in the film to bickering former lovers in the k-drama—she easily transforms into her character and, with the help of her co-star, just make it work.

She debuted as an actor in Romans 8:37 (2017), a movie about a scandal in a small Christian community and was screened at the Busan International Film Festival. She then played a student in the mystery thriller movie Marionette (2018).

In her next film, The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion directed by Park Hoon-jung, she starred as a girl who escapes from a top-secret laboratory. Selected among 1,500 candidates for the role, she received critical praise for executing difficult emotional and fighting scenes, eventually winning Best New Actress from Blue Dragon, Buil, and other award-giving bodies.

Later, she ventured into the small screen through the JTBC drama series Itaewon Class (2020), an adaptation of the eponymous webtoon, which became so popular that it was recommended by Time Magazine and Forbes. For her role as a genius sociopath manager of an Itaewon resto-bar, she won Best New Actress (TV) at the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards.

She reprised her role in The Witch: Part 2. The Other One (2022). With Jeon So-nee and Byeon Woo-seok, she then starred in Soulmate (2023), a movie about female friendship and a remake of the hit Chinese film of the same name.

She will team up with Park Hae-soo to lead the Netflix disaster movie The Great Flood this year. In 2025, she will return to k-drama as a profiler opposite Son Suk-ku in the Disney+ mystery thriller Nine Puzzles

Her filmography may be short, but she leaves a lasting impression.
