Lee Kwang-soo (이광수)

Not your typical “oppa” or comedian, Lee Kwang-soo’s life can be described as one bold (and committed) decision after another. From his decision to forego living as a chaebol (rich business family) heir to his seven-year relationship with his girlfriend, Actress Lee Sun-bin, Lee Kwang-soo seems to keep to heart the saying “All-in for the long haul”.

Birthday: July 14, 1985

Lee Kwang-soo was determined to focus all his effort and energy into becoming a well-established actor— which is why he decided to not only finish a degree in Journalism but also to finish his mandatory military service even before he started his acting career.

After a successful stint as a model (which won him a CF Model Award), he debuted as an actor in the MBC sitcom Here He Comes (2009) which got him nominated for MBC Entertainment Awards’ Best Newcomer category. However, it would be his work as a cast member of Running Man (2010 – 2021) that would earn him the public’s affection and many entertainment awards. Aside from Running Man, Lee Kwang-soo also joined variety shows such as Good Sunday, Perhaps Love, and Busted!.

Going beyond his variety shows, Lee Kwang-soo has also actively done both film and television projects. While other actors find their own niche and stick to it, he has boldly explored genres such as comedy (Wonderful Radio and All about My Life), neo-noir (Confessions), sageuk (Goddess of Fire), and rom-com (It’s Okay, That’s Love). We could go on about his projects, and how his role as the villainous Prince Imhae made us shudder (and want to slap his face off), but that would be a rant for another day.

While Lee Kwang-soo’s time as "Running Man’s Sly Giraffe” may have come to an end, his career in film and television is far from over! In 2022, he appeared in the box office megahit The Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure, and the tvN drama The Killer’s Shopping List.
