Kwak Si-yang (곽시양)
When Kwak Si-yang first appeared as a wide-eyed college student hiding a family secret, in SBS’s makjang-free drama Glorious Day (2014), we wouldn’t have thought he’d pull off so many other roles including being a villain. But this environmental and civil engineering college graduate has come a long way since then.

Kwak has shown his range over the years. He starred in his first lead role as a fraternal twin brother in a love triangle in Persevere, Goo Hae Ra (2015). In the same year, he gained more attention despite his small role as a chef in Park Bo-young and Jo Jung-suk’s hit comedy drama Oh My Ghost.
In 2016, he gave audiences very serious second lead syndrome in Second to Last Love. He gets in the way of noona Kang Min-too (Kim Hee-ae) and her budding romance with stoic Go Sang-sik (Ji Jin-hee). He also starred in Mirror of the Witch in the same year. In 2017, he tried his hand and succeeded in being a villain in the star-studded drama Chicago Typewriter.
His more recent dramas include Welcome 2 Life (2019) and Alice (2020). He played a prince in the sageuk Lovers of the Red Sky (2021), and a ridiculously attractive talent manager in Idol: The Coup (2021).
When he’s not working on dramas or films, he’s a homebody and has awesome knife skills in the kitchen. He’s one of the special members of the television show My Little Old Boy.
Audiences loved his bromance with Seo In-guk in the crime comedy Cafe Minamdang (2022).
We’re all looking forward to the surprising roles he has in store.
