Ahn So-hee / Sohee (안소희)

“Omona!” (“Oh my gosh!”) was popularized by Ahn So-hee in the chart-topping and dance-craze-inspiring Wonder Girls single “Tell Me.” Also known as Sohee, Ahn debuted in 2007 at the age of 14 as the maknae (youngest member) of the popular retro queens Wonder Girls, whose viral dances (remember “Nobody” from 2008?) overtook the world.

Before launching her bustling music career, she made her acting debut as a deaf girl in the small film The Synesthesia for Overtone Construction (2004). After training for two years in k-pop, she appeared in another film, the rom-com Hellcats (2008), where she earned her first acting nomination, Buil Best New Actress. Soon, she got her first lead role in her first series, the KBS Drama Special Happy! Rose Day (2013), portraying a woman who runs a flower shop. In late 2013, she left the k-pop quintet to focus on acting.

Her big break came when she played a high school student in Gong Yoo’s megahit zombie flick Train to Busan (2016). Undaunted by criticisms for her acting in the famous movie, she later earned critical praise and a JIMFF award for playing a reclusive teen in the drama-mystery A Single Rider (2017) opposite Lee Byung-hun and Gong Hyo-jin.

She starred as a guest house co-manager in the JTBC comedy Welcome to Waikiki 2 (2019), a stage actress in the short movie Memories (2019), and a hacker in the OCN supernatural thriller Missing: The Other Side (2020). Last year, she appeared as the sister of Yeon Woo-jin's character in the melodrama Thirty-Nine. Most recently, she reprised her white hat hacker role in Season 2 of Missing: The Other Side.

Having monolids and chubby cheeks early in her career, she is unbothered by looks that deviate from those of the typical idol. In fact, she is an accomplished model, featured in various fashion magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Dazed & Confused, Marie Claire, Numéro, Vogue, and W. And now, she is on her way to becoming a successful actor.
